Ofsted February 2023: BEP Academy remains a ‘good school’

BEP Academy had a full Ofsted inspection between Wednesday 22nd and Friday 24th March 2023. You can read the full report and inspection outcome by clicking here, or by viewing to the Ofsted website by clicking here.

Thank you to all the parents, students and staff who completed the Ofsted questionnaire and all the schools and local authorities we work with for providing feedback to Ofsted.

Info for parents – knife crime

Essex knife crime

Talking with young people or young adults about knives and weapons can be difficult, whether you are a parent, professional or a friend.

People may not want to talk about the subject as they might be worried that they will get into trouble, they are embarrassed, scared, or feel that carrying a knife makes them feel safer.

This page and downloadable resources (click here or on the image above) are to help you prepare for a conversation with someone about whether they are carrying a knife, why they are doing this and what you can do if they are.

Work experience service re-start

As employers welcome back their colleagues to the place of work, social distancing rules have changed and education gets back (in the main) to pre-Covid ways of working, we are pleased to announce the restarting of the Work Experience Service.

Over the next few weeks we will be contacting schools and booking work experience slots for January to July 2022 (a number of schools have already been in contact to request their slot – if your school hasn’t yet, please get in contact with the team).

The work experience service (organised by BEP Group) covers Essex, Southend-On-Sea, Thurrock and the East London boroughs of Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest.  If your school is outside these areas, and there isn’t a local work experience organiser or Education Business Partnership (EBP), please get in touch to see if we can help.

Our Central London and West End pre-placement vetting service for all work experience organisers and schools/colleges nationally has also restarted.  If you need a job description and young person’s risk assessment provided for a central London placement, please get in touch either by using the contact form of by calling 01708 436440.
